Devon collided at 08.09.2012 with a teammate, injuring his C3 and C4 vertebrae and spinal cord.  He was paralyzed from the neck down . He could not breath without respirator.

Devon received three year intensive rehabilitationstherapie in the best US-Centers, without improvement. It was no brain controlled arm muscle activity and leg muscle activity.  The respirator was necessary as support during the sleep.

About 3 weeks after first  NeuroRehab therapy  (ca. 3 years after injury) he could activate some muscles in shoulder. Later his therapists have noticed some movement in his abs, quads and glutes. And sporadic, slight movement in the left ankle.  The function of diaphragma was much better, he do not need respirator even in the night.
